text-align: left;">
Another day, another monster.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm starting to feel like an evil overlord or maybe a mad wizard cackling away in his laboratory😁</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one was fairly easy to make and if anyone were to tell me they wanted to have a go at sculpting a monster I think I'd recomend they try to make a Grell.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Session one, take an aluminum foil ball, stick it on a paperclip, cover it with milliput and roughly sketch in where you want things to go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-50fWnAc-htI/XyJfjIF8JoI/AAAAAAAAHrc/O-bU84qRbNYIrDXLmXIzgEBPltGMwQ0NQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200730_074423.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-50fWnAc-htI/XyJfjIF8JoI/AAAAAAAAHrc/O-bU84qRbNYIrDXLmXIzgEBPltGMwQ0NQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200730_074423.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now I would also recomend you pause here to let the milliput harden but as I am an impatient gith...<br />
... do as I say, not as I do...<br />
<br />
...so I immediately added the beak.<br />
<br />
I also decided to make the tentacles seperately as it's much simpler to form them ahead of time, and then attach them once they are fully cured, than to try and support them when they are dangling from a figure all soft and stretchy like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wE9dKVVqEhs/XyJfjCvP2XI/AAAAAAAAHrY/K2bM-Ge3htglG0-18lw-fWZHhq1NBFPegCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200730_074459.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wE9dKVVqEhs/XyJfjCvP2XI/AAAAAAAAHrY/K2bM-Ge3htglG0-18lw-fWZHhq1NBFPegCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200730_074459.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Session two,<br />
<br />
Stick a blob of putty on the bottom and jamm all those tentacles in then draw a bunch of lines on it with your sculpting tool to make the blob look like the hairs / frills on the bottom of the Grell's body.(see I told you it was much simpler this way.)<br />
<br />
Next it was a simple matter of rolling up a bunch of tiny saussages and laying them down in a kind of brain looking pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WUNz6xtjnZU/XyJfi1AEX-I/AAAAAAAAHrU/Vxx-bwBMcT0vBF-0nBFRwpnDSQuA0ThlgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200730_074544.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WUNz6xtjnZU/XyJfi1AEX-I/AAAAAAAAHrU/Vxx-bwBMcT0vBF-0nBFRwpnDSQuA0ThlgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200730_074544.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Et voila, Grell's your uncle!<br />
<br />
And a quick pic with our helpfull friend the Splintered light beastman for size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Cv0W7VLXa-Q/XyJfj9TS8iI/AAAAAAAAHrg/VJU61Y-ep8IkaR8LiBtZNem_396EYkq5ACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200730_074650.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Cv0W7VLXa-Q/XyJfj9TS8iI/AAAAAAAAHrg/VJU61Y-ep8IkaR8LiBtZNem_396EYkq5ACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200730_074650.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Another monster done, back to the Monster Manual for more! Muhahahahah!!!<br />

Best to make the most use of it then.😉<br />
<br />
I started of with a conversion of a splintered light Chimera.<br />
Instead of glueing on the three heads I sculpted it a new one and gave it a spiked ball tail, turning it into a Manticore.<br />
I was going for a blend of human and leonine features but it's been a long time since I've tried doing faces and I had forgotten how much I struggle with them.<br />
Even so, I think he looks pretty good on the tabletop, so I am happy with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T9zitbXTLbY/XxMec4uvVoI/AAAAAAAAHn8/Ez9wgOeT9XQoviNy35PxTDUQ9B5wvXH7QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200718_180255.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T9zitbXTLbY/XxMec4uvVoI/AAAAAAAAHn8/Ez9wgOeT9XQoviNy35PxTDUQ9B5wvXH7QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200718_180255.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-10F3gIXtaag/XxMectuItPI/AAAAAAAAHn0/oMUii1iAHLoh_Y6GwVBUXfVUu_Kq1babgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200718_180349.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-10F3gIXtaag/XxMectuItPI/AAAAAAAAHn0/oMUii1iAHLoh_Y6GwVBUXfVUu_Kq1babgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200718_180349.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's the little fellow with some paint on him and his cousins flanking him so you can get an idea of what the original mini looks like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bH-7cKcIlWI/XxaBsBayoHI/AAAAAAAAHo4/P7ZJIAdYTBwko8xTcdU0HeXKEe9oGKsOgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200721_074702.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1190" data-original-width="1600" height="476" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bH-7cKcIlWI/XxaBsBayoHI/AAAAAAAAHo4/P7ZJIAdYTBwko8xTcdU0HeXKEe9oGKsOgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200721_074702.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_VCNrHGd5kU/XxaBr5EgPyI/AAAAAAAAHo0/DrSjdGCTFl4iwR3igZAhrGuz9WdwuubygCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200721_074631.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_VCNrHGd5kU/XxaBr5EgPyI/AAAAAAAAHo0/DrSjdGCTFl4iwR3igZAhrGuz9WdwuubygCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200721_074631.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The next two sculpts are going to be another D&D classic, the Carrion Crawler.<br />
This was actually the first monster I ever ran back when I first started playing D&D as a kid, so I've always had a bit of a soft spot for it.<br />
<br />
Now the Carrion Crawler has gone through quite a few desingn changes throughout the various editions and they all had things I liked about them and things I didn't, therefore mine will be an amalgamation of all of those plus whatever I think looks cool or I think I can pull of within my limited sculpting abilities.<br />
<br />
Now, because a number of people have asked about my sculpting process I thought I'd post photos of these session by session.<br />
Be warned ,I am a very unorganised, chaotic builder / sculpter so it might get rough sometimes.<br />
<br />
So first session:<br />
I made an armature out of aluminium foil and promptly forgot to photograph it (don't worry I'll get the next one)<br />
Then I covered that in a thin layer of green stuff and roughly sketched in the belly plates and started on adding the legs.<br />
That's it for the first session.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_3seYaAeooE/XxMec5lWqeI/AAAAAAAAHn4/ith7zIDlsj8h-4SDzFADVPVnBB5z-pz0wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200718_180524.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_3seYaAeooE/XxMec5lWqeI/AAAAAAAAHn4/ith7zIDlsj8h-4SDzFADVPVnBB5z-pz0wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200718_180524.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Second session.<br />
I added the rest of the legs and started on the head, adding a little more bulk and starting to detail the eyes.<br />
The teeth were also adde at this stage.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d5iQ1oM6yRY/XxP_ne45aqI/AAAAAAAAHoU/E6YftD4XF1INCM-2iPDwsGa-gpTtIrjfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200719_100700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="936" data-original-width="1246" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d5iQ1oM6yRY/XxP_ne45aqI/AAAAAAAAHoU/E6YftD4XF1INCM-2iPDwsGa-gpTtIrjfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200719_100700.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the left over putty to sculpt the first chitin plate and there ends session two.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5lMClrrZ-0M/XxP_nUKSTsI/AAAAAAAAHoY/0PlZSakYGOU923mTUgsYEEuV91uYL6ItACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200719_100726.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1016" data-original-width="1355" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5lMClrrZ-0M/XxP_nUKSTsI/AAAAAAAAHoY/0PlZSakYGOU923mTUgsYEEuV91uYL6ItACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200719_100726.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Session three:<br />
<br />
Here's that armature I promised you (see I told you it was going to be unplanned and chaotic ;-)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cTjYqbffkzg/XxfOUVgwvtI/AAAAAAAAHpI/Z0oVaS1ik98oAVTxzMnAsCIngbMk2izjwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200722_072321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cTjYqbffkzg/XxfOUVgwvtI/AAAAAAAAHpI/Z0oVaS1ik98oAVTxzMnAsCIngbMk2izjwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200722_072321.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Not really much to see there so...<br />
...back to the sculpting,<br />
<br />
I added the mandibles and the euh... ...lips I guess,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jd3bzvSpotc/XxfQJt0WmfI/AAAAAAAAHpk/VpYJ9jrt2Ww6UyQCfVzWdxVbG-_K2uioACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200722_072251.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="992" data-original-width="1323" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jd3bzvSpotc/XxfQJt0WmfI/AAAAAAAAHpk/VpYJ9jrt2Ww6UyQCfVzWdxVbG-_K2uioACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200722_072251.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And did another plate of chitin on its back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also decided the rear end was to plain looking so I started adding some detail there too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p6xUUdf5XIw/XxfQJtzMLGI/AAAAAAAAHpo/-xs7GWmWMe0j32PAs2DKCCBuq0SyVJwAQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200722_072210.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1121" data-original-width="1494" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p6xUUdf5XIw/XxfQJtzMLGI/AAAAAAAAHpo/-xs7GWmWMe0j32PAs2DKCCBuq0SyVJwAQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200722_072210.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Session four,<br />
more backplates, butt detail and starting to cover the second armature with the first layer of green stuff.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Delkef-YEg/XxicWzA1CcI/AAAAAAAAHp8/YMYv2biW-EYw_pCaf7XTVvCDQNjhl4NQQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200722_220429.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1325" data-original-width="1600" height="530" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0Delkef-YEg/XxicWzA1CcI/AAAAAAAAHp8/YMYv2biW-EYw_pCaf7XTVvCDQNjhl4NQQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200722_220429.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Session five, more backplates...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rp95Kvh2Dqo/Xxp31Jl5shI/AAAAAAAAHqI/bxqg1oO5XNMryFwV0LdAoiUBZtkT7A-egCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200724_074919.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rp95Kvh2Dqo/Xxp31Jl5shI/AAAAAAAAHqI/bxqg1oO5XNMryFwV0LdAoiUBZtkT7A-egCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200724_074919.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Session six,<br />
finished the first crawler by adding the tentacles and made some serious headway on the second one.<br />
I actually made the tentacles, legs and mandibles ahead of time and let them fully cure before attaching them with a teeny weeny ball of green stuff and some super glue, this greatly sped up the process.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3LVxOuZowZ8/XxvSgcjDU1I/AAAAAAAAHqk/5bbaJYoNMlQ75aRzaWXylAo8yycmn53LgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200725_083226.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3LVxOuZowZ8/XxvSgcjDU1I/AAAAAAAAHqk/5bbaJYoNMlQ75aRzaWXylAo8yycmn53LgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200725_083226.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's a picture of the finished crawler next to a Splintered Light beastman to give you an idea of the size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zx4yh3WnAwM/XxvULuf6e5I/AAAAAAAAHqw/Y4CvDa0mSvwKuELLPprw6CEVzCFap7GAwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200725_083953.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zx4yh3WnAwM/XxvULuf6e5I/AAAAAAAAHqw/Y4CvDa0mSvwKuELLPprw6CEVzCFap7GAwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200725_083953.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Well that's it for now.<br />
Next time we finish the second one and get some paint on them.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

First we build a metal framework to hold the creature during the summoning process.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Noz5VivCeC8/Xw67jHi28_I/AAAAAAAAHkY/NYcKfNP7cFQsYZasN-hobVfSq4n6kfJ6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200714_222134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Noz5VivCeC8/Xw67jHi28_I/AAAAAAAAHkY/NYcKfNP7cFQsYZasN-hobVfSq4n6kfJ6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200714_222134.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then we mix the four basic elements together to form the sacred "Green Stuff" (50/50 mix milliput / kneadatite)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jInbYvB0bYE/Xw9ch_JH8FI/AAAAAAAAHlU/1kDOpXWgqHwWkEEQrZp6CKDNmOxzZL_CgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200715_192705.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jInbYvB0bYE/Xw9ch_JH8FI/AAAAAAAAHlU/1kDOpXWgqHwWkEEQrZp6CKDNmOxzZL_CgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200715_192705.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
and with the hard and soft implements we alternately press, poke and caress the putty into a similitude of the creature we wish to conjure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RqHyYbUz6y0/Xw68JtRhv5I/AAAAAAAAHkg/qO2VTBvdGcYV5Jnzy6ZNpJwqPmy6HwmOACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200714_222110.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RqHyYbUz6y0/Xw68JtRhv5I/AAAAAAAAHkg/qO2VTBvdGcYV5Jnzy6ZNpJwqPmy6HwmOACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200714_222110.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Slowly the creature takes form...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d2zE0eoQaWE/Xw68JuCxnLI/AAAAAAAAHkk/o4o7xB2fUrwTnyZYx6PeWSOaIBUiHLOCwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200715_084156.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d2zE0eoQaWE/Xw68JuCxnLI/AAAAAAAAHkk/o4o7xB2fUrwTnyZYx6PeWSOaIBUiHLOCwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200715_084156.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
untill finally, after much patience and detailed work... ...succes!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-luE5YyYdUqQ/XxBbyr-tdPI/AAAAAAAAHlg/JwEy6CKYosQynCd5KoTUCjtkJzc6tYFqACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200716_155129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-luE5YyYdUqQ/XxBbyr-tdPI/AAAAAAAAHlg/JwEy6CKYosQynCd5KoTUCjtkJzc6tYFqACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200716_155129.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now through the use of various mythic pigments, we bring our monster to life.<br />
And lastly we give it a small offering of flock and bind it to this plane of existence with a final "Ard Coat".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Afd26l1ePKU/XxEst9JCQzI/AAAAAAAAHls/HJR7W54ZkHcYaoaO6PKriLZZ9oTm2uV4wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200717_064121.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1151" data-original-width="1535" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Afd26l1ePKU/XxEst9JCQzI/AAAAAAAAHls/HJR7W54ZkHcYaoaO6PKriLZZ9oTm2uV4wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200717_064121.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Behold fellow practitionners of the arcane arts: "the Othyug!"<br />
Never shall we have to worry about where to get rid of our excrement again!<br />
Or worry about those pesky adventurers surprising us during number two for that matter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sIQwUhXM7NE/XxEst5CjStI/AAAAAAAAHlw/s2_vn1NhayguzBu3ZLNBJZgHWFT6fUceQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200717_064214.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sIQwUhXM7NE/XxEst5CjStI/AAAAAAAAHlw/s2_vn1NhayguzBu3ZLNBJZgHWFT6fUceQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200717_064214.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
After rummaging through the bits box I came up with these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ZHBl3y4QHc/Xw9TRaW55YI/AAAAAAAAHk0/YR9IarkDFdcLGTpg96M21oieZZ9BWkW1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200715_192004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ZHBl3y4QHc/Xw9TRaW55YI/AAAAAAAAHk0/YR9IarkDFdcLGTpg96M21oieZZ9BWkW1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200715_192004.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Different sizes of half beads and .177 and .22 airgun pellets => instant mushrooms.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dqD6KP9ViQM/Xwf57okKyOI/AAAAAAAAHjI/p4PyA848tosBX-8i_HKZx3PHEza1nj3-ACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_20200702_094530.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dqD6KP9ViQM/Xwf57okKyOI/AAAAAAAAHjI/p4PyA848tosBX-8i_HKZx3PHEza1nj3-ACLcBGAsYHQ/w500-h375/IMG_20200702_094530.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Not as good looking as my fully sculpted ones but way faster to make so I'll take 'em!<br />
<br />
I decided to try doing a tree to.<br />
It looks ok but I think I'll stick to making these fully by hand as there is much less of a time save.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2K7drwpQLAU/Xw65912b0WI/AAAAAAAAHkM/QpH5W2Pa47gV8I-3X6cIpHeg4RTlBViowCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200714_222221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2K7drwpQLAU/Xw65912b0WI/AAAAAAAAHkM/QpH5W2Pa47gV8I-3X6cIpHeg4RTlBViowCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200714_222221.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
On the minis side of things, I decided that my dark elves lacked leadership so I painted up a priestess and her fiendish bodyguard.<br />
(both are from Splintered light miniatures)<br />
The figure on the ground was made from all the green stuff and milliput leftovers from other sculpting projects.<br />
<br />

Just a simple update of the models I managed to paint these last few weeks.</div>

I did three more trolls, they are a bit darker then the two previous ones but then these are obviously more civilised and thats enough of an explanation for me. <span style="text-align: center;">😉<span id="goog_2023160603"></span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/"></a><span id="goog_2023160604"></span></span></div>

Ok so, as promised in my previous post, here's a little tutorial for my mushroom trees.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First though, because some people have asked about them and because my trees are based on them, a quick rundown of my basic cavern tiles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The tiles are cut from 3mm perspex , its a material kind of like foamcore but more dense / sturdy. It doesn't warp as easily but can still be cut with a hobby knife.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stone texture on top is simply corck tiles with the edges roughed up so the are more of an irregular shape.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then underneath the tile I stick a square of magnetic paper so the tiles don't slide around on the board.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jn7sUa3A6tE/XwAQ1gZ93jI/AAAAAAAAHgA/gPy2PGZHpKItZ5J9eaqdodecLTmUpEdZgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200704_064348.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jn7sUa3A6tE/XwAQ1gZ93jI/AAAAAAAAHgA/gPy2PGZHpKItZ5J9eaqdodecLTmUpEdZgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200704_064348.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
"Ok, enough about the stupid tiles!"<br />
"We want to know about the mushroom trees!"<br />
<br />
Right, lets get cracking...<br />
<br />
You start by twisting floral wire into a general tree shape, just like you would while making standard wargame trees.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kGF5S6F3wp8/XwAQ7-UhV3I/AAAAAAAAHgM/9hjZhv3G6FcBxxryw-OSGZKrx2FUzdOHQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200704_064326.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kGF5S6F3wp8/XwAQ7-UhV3I/AAAAAAAAHgM/9hjZhv3G6FcBxxryw-OSGZKrx2FUzdOHQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200704_064326.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then you bulk out the tunk and branches with aluminium foil.<br />
I've found that rolling the foil into a kind of loose sausage makes it a lot easier to wrap it around the armature as the tend to hold their shape better once you compress them down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--e5f9cljWP4/XwAQ7xtpjvI/AAAAAAAAHgI/S7a-S_JISLw_NNmB3SWzf4YIIMnTl8tMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200704_064218.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--e5f9cljWP4/XwAQ7xtpjvI/AAAAAAAAHgI/S7a-S_JISLw_NNmB3SWzf4YIIMnTl8tMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200704_064218.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mkcju2JLL8Q/XwAQ7xdGOnI/AAAAAAAAHgE/RDd6vxyTDpg8OrKaf-5rx9o6o9rPLlvuACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200704_064255.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mkcju2JLL8Q/XwAQ7xdGOnI/AAAAAAAAHgE/RDd6vxyTDpg8OrKaf-5rx9o6o9rPLlvuACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200704_064255.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next you glue the tree to the base and then you cover the entire thing in a layer of hotglue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t9J6iagJFZA/XwQpQ5rt2gI/AAAAAAAAHhI/mVUK5dL9sO0kfzzjRMAXupYVTfyWQnbdQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200707_094631.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t9J6iagJFZA/XwQpQ5rt2gI/AAAAAAAAHhI/mVUK5dL9sO0kfzzjRMAXupYVTfyWQnbdQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200707_094631.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Once the entire thing is covered in hotglue its time to start texturing it.<br />
You could probably do this with the tip of your hotglue gun but the nozzle on mine proved to be a bit to bulky so I opted to use a sculpting tool with a small round head.<br />
Simply heat it over a candle flame and drag it through the hotglue to create a bark like texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aLbgF-K7VXw/XwQpn40Uv0I/AAAAAAAAHhU/xbXWbRGDZzEX420TNJFYF1QSf1zpldTWgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200707_094706.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aLbgF-K7VXw/XwQpn40Uv0I/AAAAAAAAHhU/xbXWbRGDZzEX420TNJFYF1QSf1zpldTWgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200707_094706.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Once thats finished you can hit it with a quick blast from a hairdrier to get rid of any hot glue whisps that may have developed ( not to long or you'll melt the texture too)<br />
<br />
And finally we come to the more familliar medium of two part epoxy putties.<br />
I chose to do the caps in plumbers putty, because I'm an impatient gith and that stuff sets in five to ten minutes, but you can just use green stuff if that's all you have.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mF9pjm0gtVM/XwQpn-kpNMI/AAAAAAAAHhQ/VP9RydGmZpkN-U0cTQ5EmQPlQ8ebzRQvgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200707_094906.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mF9pjm0gtVM/XwQpn-kpNMI/AAAAAAAAHhQ/VP9RydGmZpkN-U0cTQ5EmQPlQ8ebzRQvgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200707_094906.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then its just a matter of sculpting the roots, the nodules on the bark and the spots on the caps. Nothing to complicated, just roll some balls and sausages and stick them on where ever you like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HU7iiDCb2TM/XwVZY0loKGI/AAAAAAAAHhk/W6TOncC8Fc0X86bowK33ty-_AtcKk_6HQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200708_072651.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HU7iiDCb2TM/XwVZY0loKGI/AAAAAAAAHhk/W6TOncC8Fc0X86bowK33ty-_AtcKk_6HQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200708_072651.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And now you have your very own mushroom tree, just prime and paint it any way you like...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-quoWNdh639w/XwVssWUt-nI/AAAAAAAAHhw/kdaptaf0J_IR54Ih_TrDifz-xoFfVqTegCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200708_084939.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-quoWNdh639w/XwVssWUt-nI/AAAAAAAAHhw/kdaptaf0J_IR54Ih_TrDifz-xoFfVqTegCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200708_084939.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I hope all of that made at least a bit of sense to you, If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them all in the comments.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

I managed to make some more progress on my modular cavern terrain.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted a way to add some elevation so I made some simple risers from foamcore and some wall pieces to go in front of them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aFA5VDqkDhY/Xv2O57Ld1sI/AAAAAAAAHek/Xa7U6IeKVrQgtZimJjHQGvLlqiHgjSxPQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200502_072756.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aFA5VDqkDhY/Xv2O57Ld1sI/AAAAAAAAHek/Xa7U6IeKVrQgtZimJjHQGvLlqiHgjSxPQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200502_072756.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AAlqfIUN7Tc/Xv2O6bq-24I/AAAAAAAAHeo/LvV6LHd7gkgkcnd_ZtNdgnsBb7Qwsy_GQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200502_072938.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AAlqfIUN7Tc/Xv2O6bq-24I/AAAAAAAAHeo/LvV6LHd7gkgkcnd_ZtNdgnsBb7Qwsy_GQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200502_072938.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I like them, but I will be experimenting some more I think to break up that ruler straight line.<br />
<br />
As I was about to paint the last wall piece I suddenly thought to myself "I could paint this blue and have a little waterfall !" and so...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xw1hZA8Z7Zw/Xv2O9FsfK0I/AAAAAAAAHes/4VXim8FIXSQnp-cnVJAoyG6t7lY2e6piQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200506_141746_BURST1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xw1hZA8Z7Zw/Xv2O9FsfK0I/AAAAAAAAHes/4VXim8FIXSQnp-cnVJAoyG6t7lY2e6piQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200506_141746_BURST1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then, as a change of pace, I decided to try my hand at some more fungus terrain.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made two mushroom trees.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I really like how these turned out and I'll definately be making more of them.<br />
If people are interested I may even do a little tutorial.<br />
<br />
And then of course I couldn't resist building a little encounter, just to see how it all goes together.<br />
<br />
Perfect for a big end battle! 😉<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And of course a close up of our two heroes about to enter into an epic battle with their fungal opponents.<br />

Last week we finally got down to making some D&D characters for my wife and daugter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A Witcher inspired half elf paladin for my little girl and as usual my wife went the furry route and decided to play an Alseid ranger.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now it was up to me to find them some suitable minis.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Easy enough for the kid, a demonworld elf with an extra scabbard added for his second longsword did the trick.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For my wife's ranger I started with a demonworld centaur, resculpted the tail and hooves and added antlers and the appropriate female bits.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x_ctGOPVE7k/XqPfl9SG1AI/AAAAAAAAHZ4/X9lC3mnppPQPkmKiP62MwOpF2efR2oPCgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_085035.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x_ctGOPVE7k/XqPfl9SG1AI/AAAAAAAAHZ4/X9lC3mnppPQPkmKiP62MwOpF2efR2oPCgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_085035.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In their first adventure they have to stop a strange tree creature from harvesting villagers heads. This guy from Splintered light fits the job perfectly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_mCpPskc-wo/XqPfljYf5iI/AAAAAAAAHZ0/tietnYOATBEZLE3gU5hoTKJGkJLLOup3wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_mCpPskc-wo/XqPfljYf5iI/AAAAAAAAHZ0/tietnYOATBEZLE3gU5hoTKJGkJLLOup3wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084801.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And what would D&D be without some ogers...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0BrI2qmt7EM/XqPflVdKgMI/AAAAAAAAHZw/yhpxRn-XdS0ZL8msLBJAVZ_IcUoi9cQJgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084726.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1165" data-original-width="1600" height="464" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0BrI2qmt7EM/XqPflVdKgMI/AAAAAAAAHZw/yhpxRn-XdS0ZL8msLBJAVZ_IcUoi9cQJgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084726.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
... and some trolls</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bmewzm3Bsvg/XqPflBzd9zI/AAAAAAAAHZs/beFDsJNt1sk6yzBdfLh7eZod6T_YlA02ACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084656.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bmewzm3Bsvg/XqPflBzd9zI/AAAAAAAAHZs/beFDsJNt1sk6yzBdfLh7eZod6T_YlA02ACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084656.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And finally, my first ever dragon miniature.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Its a plastic dracolich mini from the first edition decent boardgame.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The details were a bit soft in some places but over al I'm quite happy with how she turned out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PNfDyP9eptU/XqPfkHEUwnI/AAAAAAAAHZk/gHJ1fNEcyVMuDlQDHkwy0gBahesP2y4qQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084625.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PNfDyP9eptU/XqPfkHEUwnI/AAAAAAAAHZk/gHJ1fNEcyVMuDlQDHkwy0gBahesP2y4qQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084625.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wfhJA3Nzezk/XqPfkBHtFxI/AAAAAAAAHZg/v2CKbyXkDHMzvx0QvqfFRgWtIRq96X0cACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084601.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wfhJA3Nzezk/XqPfkBHtFxI/AAAAAAAAHZg/v2CKbyXkDHMzvx0QvqfFRgWtIRq96X0cACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084601.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I always thought she looked a bit small next to the other minis in the box, but for 15mm she's just about perfect imo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FcZe321J7yA/XqPfkUWh-UI/AAAAAAAAHZo/EHRYR3jgXW0iw5FFf19leWHrrGiNLmrSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200425_084542.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FcZe321J7yA/XqPfkUWh-UI/AAAAAAAAHZo/EHRYR3jgXW0iw5FFf19leWHrrGiNLmrSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200425_084542.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I still need to make some more bits and bobs of terrain and a miniature for the singing tree for the finale of the adventure and then we're all set.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

I've been in a bit of a gaming and crafting funk this last month but now I've found my mojo back and I have my 7 year old daughter to thank for it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She was getting bored sitting at home all the time so I had given her a block of Das clay I had lying around. She took it straight up to her room and about two hours later she presented me with two monsters she'd made and told me I had to paint them so I could use them with my little men.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How could I refuse...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So here's the first, a tentacled Lovecraftian horror , which I have been informed is actually only the head of a gigantic subterranean worm.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNE0V5VllYw/XpikIluOP9I/AAAAAAAAHXI/grx7yOkFpMskdpVn5PfEzM13mvFCYjwLACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_201621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNE0V5VllYw/XpikIluOP9I/AAAAAAAAHXI/grx7yOkFpMskdpVn5PfEzM13mvFCYjwLACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_201621.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And the second one, a cave monster who lures greedy adventures into its mouth using large gemstones.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VW_LuRK6pqY/XpikhQHVfSI/AAAAAAAAHXo/D4b_vHrv4VE1ovuK_u8y-m0O2mV992JYgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_201651.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VW_LuRK6pqY/XpikhQHVfSI/AAAAAAAAHXo/D4b_vHrv4VE1ovuK_u8y-m0O2mV992JYgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_201651.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
As you can see he's perfectly camouflaged and blends right into his surroundings.<br />
They'll never suspect a thing!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ootMYY3a6Wg/XpikhkNL4nI/AAAAAAAAHXs/UGRVwRVH-i8Z22w65tNX1d3ouMWUMlhmQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_201659.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ootMYY3a6Wg/XpikhkNL4nI/AAAAAAAAHXs/UGRVwRVH-i8Z22w65tNX1d3ouMWUMlhmQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_201659.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had so much fun painting these that I kept right on going with some terrain building.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The first things I made were these stalagmite tiles for my cavern set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Really simple, I just twisted some aluminum foil into the desired shapes and hot glued them to the tiles, some basing sand and paint and Bob's your uncle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5Zq5pPf8GM/XpikgSAAYUI/AAAAAAAAHXg/D0gk3t7b8jwgBPLs53dxxRP-0FBtV-1sQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_201510.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5Zq5pPf8GM/XpikgSAAYUI/AAAAAAAAHXg/D0gk3t7b8jwgBPLs53dxxRP-0FBtV-1sQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_201510.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Going for more easy wins I decided to finally base and paint all my left over green stuff mushrooms.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xbB3yG4Q8Mg/XpikgjsomBI/AAAAAAAAHXk/mqGU-wp1Mj8Yk_d1KXFW185D0M0ZVCMiQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_201603.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xbB3yG4Q8Mg/XpikgjsomBI/AAAAAAAAHXk/mqGU-wp1Mj8Yk_d1KXFW185D0M0ZVCMiQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_201603.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then I finally finished painting the board I'm going to be using my dungeon/cavern tiles on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zHZWUH_SJI/Xpikhl-FkRI/AAAAAAAAHXw/83zPKqPtIzEBm0UzawziRSRxkj09XzQtgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_202014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zHZWUH_SJI/Xpikhl-FkRI/AAAAAAAAHXw/83zPKqPtIzEBm0UzawziRSRxkj09XzQtgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_202014.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a magnetic whiteboard which I picked up at a second hand store for the princely sum of €3.<br />
All the tiles are mounted on magnetic paper so I can set up a scene before a session and not have to worry about things shifting when I pull it out.<br />
As you can see they stay on really well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j5OnzG3jJr4/Xpikia9jmbI/AAAAAAAAHX0/U0hcCbDJfKIgaS3LPuW211nnqIk4FfAGwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200416_202523.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j5OnzG3jJr4/Xpikia9jmbI/AAAAAAAAHX0/U0hcCbDJfKIgaS3LPuW211nnqIk4FfAGwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200416_202523.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
That's it for now,<br />
I'll leave you with some glamour shots of the new beasties on the table...<br />
<br />

<br />
Parallel worlds or what !?!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The valiant town guard</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P__8yaicgq4/XlNnm7SjisI/AAAAAAAAHTU/Pt-5IxBMcQw5tvLcJ96MpuysgGvLI4TwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200223_130108.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P__8yaicgq4/XlNnm7SjisI/AAAAAAAAHTU/Pt-5IxBMcQw5tvLcJ96MpuysgGvLI4TwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200223_130108.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have more of them on the way, just as soon as I get around to cutting of their pikes and then sculpting them some halberts.<br />
<br />
And they are up against...<br />
<br />
some spooky specters<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bVgSCiS1GRM/XlNnnKzaYPI/AAAAAAAAHTc/2XHNl79XqPYkQudVf4vDwMwInaYxVThcgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200223_130140.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1197" data-original-width="1600" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bVgSCiS1GRM/XlNnnKzaYPI/AAAAAAAAHTc/2XHNl79XqPYkQudVf4vDwMwInaYxVThcgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200223_130140.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Three shadowy wraiths<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3xpeQseQwac/XlNnnGxxp2I/AAAAAAAAHTY/AYQVGq_0TR0MiBdpSBuLbywGMlF6t8PhACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200223_130217.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3xpeQseQwac/XlNnnGxxp2I/AAAAAAAAHTY/AYQVGq_0TR0MiBdpSBuLbywGMlF6t8PhACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200223_130217.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
two fierce wights (who apparently frequent the same hair salon as the bride of Frankenstein 😛)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2449Z258ZwM/XlNnosQ5FcI/AAAAAAAAHTk/UQuf7kxRhWExyQr2lCMr1AMP--Bumc3egCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200223_130449.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2449Z258ZwM/XlNnosQ5FcI/AAAAAAAAHTk/UQuf7kxRhWExyQr2lCMr1AMP--Bumc3egCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200223_130449.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
and a whole passel of ghouls and ghasts<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKfaVJvHgK8/XlNnoD2bggI/AAAAAAAAHTg/6fABNOUjJ40MTtrPC68k5zfPlkXrPO1gQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200223_130407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKfaVJvHgK8/XlNnoD2bggI/AAAAAAAAHTg/6fABNOUjJ40MTtrPC68k5zfPlkXrPO1gQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200223_130407.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For those of you wondering.<br />
The guards are from Ral Partha's Blighthaven/Demonworld line.<br />
All the undead are from Splintered Light, exept for one ghoul who is from Alternative Armies.<br />
<br />
Well, thats it for this episode.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />
Stroezie.<br />

Ok, first post of the year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What! Wait where did January go?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Oh well... there goes that new years resolution...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Let's see what I've been up to then...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First of I've been bangin' away at some more cavern tiles for D&D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S41IgfXkaX4/XjaFc2iMyhI/AAAAAAAAHQw/TJeULS20sy0Iw4sgPxoifvfFdnEcsNE1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S41IgfXkaX4/XjaFc2iMyhI/AAAAAAAAHQw/TJeULS20sy0Iw4sgPxoifvfFdnEcsNE1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083113.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see I'm starting to get enough pieces together so that I can build a decent battle scene<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oSnucVNCAr4/XjaFc6zIJXI/AAAAAAAAHQs/9M8oPd02tbkQpJHhHkVsOKev1fQLgqiwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oSnucVNCAr4/XjaFc6zIJXI/AAAAAAAAHQs/9M8oPd02tbkQpJHhHkVsOKev1fQLgqiwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083329.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJlG6gARwgo/XjaFczyfkgI/AAAAAAAAHQo/3YoXXN1ENvgxFQwGzAafVxRNtX0ieoqnACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJlG6gARwgo/XjaFczyfkgI/AAAAAAAAHQo/3YoXXN1ENvgxFQwGzAafVxRNtX0ieoqnACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083201.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm thinking of making some water edge tiles to soften the transitions from land to water a bit and then some scatter terrain like stalacmites, mushroom clusters and crystal formations.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On to the miniature painting side then...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
No D&D is complete without some Orcs<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-93bVRzlDbY0/XjaFfLtqY8I/AAAAAAAAHRA/djFystAXKWgVklrcn5w15SN7k1MGQq3agCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083603.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-93bVRzlDbY0/XjaFfLtqY8I/AAAAAAAAHRA/djFystAXKWgVklrcn5w15SN7k1MGQq3agCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083603.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
More orcs...<br />
<br />
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WbunYzumRZk/XjaFfQP-hUI/AAAAAAAAHRI/McJvwST6ZA89vVUxOiJH8Om845STwztUgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083635.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1248" data-original-width="1600" height="498" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WbunYzumRZk/XjaFfQP-hUI/AAAAAAAAHRI/McJvwST6ZA89vVUxOiJH8Om845STwztUgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083635.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
And a couple of adventurers to help stop said orcs<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u1JjWhaymyU/XjaFdzf6s0I/AAAAAAAAHQ4/EqUA0BQq3BY_BvVHDw9_lkpve1KIuLyhgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083444.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u1JjWhaymyU/XjaFdzf6s0I/AAAAAAAAHQ4/EqUA0BQq3BY_BvVHDw9_lkpve1KIuLyhgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083444.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This next mini is from the last splintered light kickstarter, when I saw him I pledged immediately,<br />
personally I think it is the coolest looking minotaur miniature you can find in 15mm.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YIcobZPcfS4/XjaFdsSWNGI/AAAAAAAAHQ0/7o4o-W54qaMtyxWQ9gT0MWWE4bbwJNQEQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YIcobZPcfS4/XjaFdsSWNGI/AAAAAAAAHQ0/7o4o-W54qaMtyxWQ9gT0MWWE4bbwJNQEQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083403.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Makes for a really butch end of session bad guy imo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MpMi7FAJdA4/XjaFfVAw1NI/AAAAAAAAHRE/tZSP6UnwBuIulyGqmbfQ-xxvkQl2cppfQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_084458.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1197" data-original-width="1600" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MpMi7FAJdA4/XjaFfVAw1NI/AAAAAAAAHRE/tZSP6UnwBuIulyGqmbfQ-xxvkQl2cppfQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_084458.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The next three figures are actually from the old 28mm Rackham line, I think they were supposed to be some kind of air elemental familiars or something.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9qVoSiTpEak/XjaFeca4_xI/AAAAAAAAHQ8/dERhi-GVu5gWO2Wt6hSw5jEQxLQ_lTKewCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_083531.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9qVoSiTpEak/XjaFeca4_xI/AAAAAAAAHQ8/dERhi-GVu5gWO2Wt6hSw5jEQxLQ_lTKewCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_083531.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They make great 15mm guardian spirits though,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
the question is "Are they friend or foe?"</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DQ4QdUy7YdQ/XjaFfyw7aQI/AAAAAAAAHRM/rx0In26WS9wz1HGnkuU3gH3p0iwb1rPtQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20200202_084539.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DQ4QdUy7YdQ/XjaFfyw7aQI/AAAAAAAAHRM/rx0In26WS9wz1HGnkuU3gH3p0iwb1rPtQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20200202_084539.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I've also based and primed a whole bunch of undead so with a bit of luck I should have more pics to share with you soon.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />
Stroezie.<br />
<br />
Ps: sorry for the quality of some of the pictures, I have just swapped out all my old lamp bulbs for LED's and I'm struggling a little to find the right camera settings to compensate.Stroeziehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04468974626298714038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423859738824906776.post-87350674668021163532019-12-23T04:05:00.000-06:002019-12-23T04:05:00.304-06:00Lets Do The Mash, Lets Do The Monster Mash!Ok folks, last post of the year before the holiday madness begins.<br />
Best make it a good'un then 😎 ,<br />
<br />
So....<br />
<br />
..."Out of the mists of Tír na nÓg strides Slaine MacRoth with his axe 'Brainbiter' in hand and his dwarf Ukko by his side."<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uSYVRJZOpNk/XgB-WIaj9kI/AAAAAAAAHOU/FMXrsDFwKUgtWpsMr7H2oDoTQv-1WsjlgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191223_092537.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uSYVRJZOpNk/XgB-WIaj9kI/AAAAAAAAHOU/FMXrsDFwKUgtWpsMr7H2oDoTQv-1WsjlgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191223_092537.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sláine: "Announce me, dwarf."</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Ukko: "Er... Sláine Mac Roth... a bone-splitter, a reddener of swords, a pruner of limbs who delights in red-frothed, glorious carnage. No welcome visitor. Not a friendly face. Your lives would be prolonged for getting out of his way. Excellent with the axe and sword he is. Far from trifling the wounds he gives with his ungentle, woe-working weapons. Well damaged his enemies. Their tribes are full of vacancies. But I expect you know that yourselves now!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Being slightly underwhelmed by the size of the Splintered light not-Slaine I decided to take matters into my own hands and convert a Ral Partha Thain barbarian into a more decently sized 15(18)mm Slaine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I cut away his puny knife and green stuffed him a propper axe...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7hojhqbeEH8/XgCFnnN_rMI/AAAAAAAAHO8/1TDaNjFJVjUPeG-85Bbjicsfl4yJsC1-gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191223_095234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7hojhqbeEH8/XgCFnnN_rMI/AAAAAAAAHO8/1TDaNjFJVjUPeG-85Bbjicsfl4yJsC1-gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191223_095234.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
...and then gave him a fur cape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J7DbHD9n4SA/XgCFnZAv74I/AAAAAAAAHO4/rOakqEnknhIKsk72opgxJ6swD0xZiwpvwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191223_095311.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J7DbHD9n4SA/XgCFnZAv74I/AAAAAAAAHO4/rOakqEnknhIKsk72opgxJ6swD0xZiwpvwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191223_095311.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
And because you can't have a hero without some monsters for him to fight I also painted...</div>

Well, I decided to try my hand at making some modular dungeon and cavern tiles.<br />
I've been playing a lot of Rangers of Shadow Deep and D&D and I want to increase my indoor options.<br />
Here's what I've got so far<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ujBw21lkOf0/XeZJqOMNupI/AAAAAAAAHMU/aAVPZvlSHaIJCcw438K4W1kwPnEKWk_bACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191121_125820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ujBw21lkOf0/XeZJqOMNupI/AAAAAAAAHMU/aAVPZvlSHaIJCcw438K4W1kwPnEKWk_bACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191121_125820.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I got the design from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrKJd7jQ989DZvtf5C69mYA" target="_blank"><span style="color: lime;">Wyloch's Armory</span></a> , if you have not done so already, you should definately check out his youtube channel it's awesome!<br />
<br />
The only change I made was to rescale them for 15mm and magnetise the bottoms so they don't slide around during play ( I have a white board as a playing surface )<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also painted some more dwarfs.</div>
In my mind they are a cleric, a wizard and a fighter, although they could always end up being something else once they hit the table.<br />
The campfire is a quick sculpt I did because I needed one in a game.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uF4IoXR_plY/XeZJp4TEtfI/AAAAAAAAHMQ/DL5thQAb7aEdp3WvkYeqxLqErNaSS2bcQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191203_123614.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uF4IoXR_plY/XeZJp4TEtfI/AAAAAAAAHMQ/DL5thQAb7aEdp3WvkYeqxLqErNaSS2bcQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191203_123614.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I hate to waste green stuff so I usually always have some press molds or dump sculpts so I can use up any leftovers.<br />
These are the results of my latest batch of dump sculpts.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--F-wUGDG6TA/XeZJqB9gDuI/AAAAAAAAHMY/ZJjR_oTU2BM1wDuYZdd3qZ48blQwCuVhQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191203_123651.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1161" data-original-width="1600" height="464" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--F-wUGDG6TA/XeZJqB9gDuI/AAAAAAAAHMY/ZJjR_oTU2BM1wDuYZdd3qZ48blQwCuVhQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191203_123651.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
and a shot with the dwarves to give you an idea of their size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4TWnUlbTojc/XeZN3QuJARI/AAAAAAAAHMs/o5qzAhP8n6EY15DnGatMNg5wSHuQGlu3gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191203_123814.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1110" data-original-width="1600" height="442" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4TWnUlbTojc/XeZN3QuJARI/AAAAAAAAHMs/o5qzAhP8n6EY15DnGatMNg5wSHuQGlu3gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191203_123814.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thats it for now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So what's next?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, I've cut a small mountain of tiles to further expand my dungeons, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
have just recieved my kickstarter pledge from Splintered Light and to top it all off, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
daughter number one has asked me to help her roll up a character for D&D. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All in all, I should have plenty more to share with you soon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cheers,</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had a rather productive week, all the terrain on this board is newly built.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The rocks and hill were made from cork coasters, the bridge is made from coffee stirrers and the bushes are plastic aquarium plants.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Byz3IADCbLo/Xa3xxOM_0BI/AAAAAAAAHJQ/NX_lLuzQfmogtxa4F1OrHpDuSEXDhgcRgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191021_194449.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Byz3IADCbLo/Xa3xxOM_0BI/AAAAAAAAHJQ/NX_lLuzQfmogtxa4F1OrHpDuSEXDhgcRgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191021_194449.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I had enough cork coasters for three more hills so now I've finally got some elevated terrain for my games.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OSx3VqSy4e4/Xa3x0b_OMeI/AAAAAAAAHJU/4Ac1zU4m-zwfohnfLC2IKHePzawVogN6ACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191021_194657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OSx3VqSy4e4/Xa3x0b_OMeI/AAAAAAAAHJU/4Ac1zU4m-zwfohnfLC2IKHePzawVogN6ACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191021_194657.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up is a summoner and his pet demon.<br />
The wizard is a Demonworld figure and the demon is a 28mm Vor growler pup both from Ral Partha.<br />
The braziers are demonworld demons with an upholstery nail glued on top and some green stuff flames. They are nice sculpts but a bit to static for my tastes, this seemed like a good way to still be able to use them.<br />
I also finished the rest of the pillars which you can see in the background.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Z-nCc6Kq2M/Xa3x7WbbLKI/AAAAAAAAHJc/aOCiJm60vk8dbtMI0q0QGDFF3fQnrTC4wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191021_195445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Z-nCc6Kq2M/Xa3x7WbbLKI/AAAAAAAAHJc/aOCiJm60vk8dbtMI0q0QGDFF3fQnrTC4wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191021_195445.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The rest is a rather mixed bunch as I've largely been paining which ever figure struck my fancy.<br />
So, from left to right we've got, another dark knight, a jailor, my new more spell casting focused ranger, a dwarven man at arms and a dwarven crossbow man who appears to be a bit bugg eyed in this picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RiFd1G0jg98/Xa3x_ss-mlI/AAAAAAAAHJg/7uT0lfg49OQVGI2IfxrhnZS0b9G_IA0zQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191021_195535.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RiFd1G0jg98/Xa3x_ss-mlI/AAAAAAAAHJg/7uT0lfg49OQVGI2IfxrhnZS0b9G_IA0zQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191021_195535.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And, in preparation for Frostgrave 2e. some bronze statues.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2hd3u9fy_0s/Xa3x3vX3E2I/AAAAAAAAHJY/rgl68orUb1k32gcl95J0xHA0yPAC9LP9wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191021_195321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2hd3u9fy_0s/Xa3x3vX3E2I/AAAAAAAAHJY/rgl68orUb1k32gcl95J0xHA0yPAC9LP9wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191021_195321.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Thats it for now.<br />
Tomorrow I'm off to Spiel 2019 in Essen where I'll be spending the rest of the week in boardgame bliss so it may be a while longer till you hear from me again.<br />
Cheers,<br />
Stroezie.<br />

<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">In Rangers of Shadow Deep: Temple of Madness there's rules for a more spell casting oriented ranger.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">I really liked the idea but I kept thinking these characters should be able to take familiars instead of animal companions so I painted up these guys.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Now all I have to do is think up some stats for them.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">They are all from Ral Partha's Demonworld line.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rkAXVcqdwFU/XZg-D-8EmiI/AAAAAAAAHII/EBZicZuFPusSHiK6Cz7WSKs7vNWqSt5WQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191003_105753.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rkAXVcqdwFU/XZg-D-8EmiI/AAAAAAAAHII/EBZicZuFPusSHiK6Cz7WSKs7vNWqSt5WQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191003_105753.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I also finished two more traditionnal looking rangers a cleric and an executionner, I don't know what I'm going to use him for yet, I just think he looks cool.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Besides painting I also managed to do some sculpting.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one was a bit of an experiment. Its made completely out of plumbers putty. why?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, I have a tendancy to spend way to long trying to get some of the details just right when I'm sculpting, plumber's putty cures in 5 to 10 minutes so that forces me to work fast.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This stuff does not take detail as well as green stuff and I also didn't even know what it was going to be when I started sculpting so over all I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I imagine it as a cross between an armadillo and a shark (there's a d&d monster like that I think).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I may do a second one bursting up out of the ground , could be fun for a Ghost Archipelago scenario.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LpxBwDyXDMg/XZg-NGW_zgI/AAAAAAAAHIQ/ZcqIUbqfs5YgmEpeFqqp_v-l0xGRnPG6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20191005_001840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LpxBwDyXDMg/XZg-NGW_zgI/AAAAAAAAHIQ/ZcqIUbqfs5YgmEpeFqqp_v-l0xGRnPG6gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20191005_001840.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That's it for now, I hope you enjoyed it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Got some more sculpting done, finished the little chest and made a bigger one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RQHdxZ6K5pI/XYfR0Sn2I_I/AAAAAAAAHHA/LTyqLx_wl1YKhHpGndX3Ol-a-xThTO5fACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190922_211222.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RQHdxZ6K5pI/XYfR0Sn2I_I/AAAAAAAAHHA/LTyqLx_wl1YKhHpGndX3Ol-a-xThTO5fACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190922_211222.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small; text-align: left;">Treasure chests! Quick, check for traps...</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
And then just couldn't resist trying my hand at sculpting one of these...<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UdWeUfhodXE/XYfR0TmFDzI/AAAAAAAAHHE/DUVYyGfSehsUiGI9VM5jMWTdCY1mh19_QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190922_211154.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UdWeUfhodXE/XYfR0TmFDzI/AAAAAAAAHHE/DUVYyGfSehsUiGI9VM5jMWTdCY1mh19_QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190922_211154.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This little Mimic was really fun to do. I think ,as I start doing other furniture, more of them may end up sneaking in 😎 ( isn't he adorable? )</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJkP_sAq3qo/XYfRwdUxcrI/AAAAAAAAHG8/vXCTrb0zsZwsna_k8oBXB0exbeD_c6i4gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190922_210913.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="991" data-original-width="1321" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJkP_sAq3qo/XYfRwdUxcrI/AAAAAAAAHG8/vXCTrb0zsZwsna_k8oBXB0exbeD_c6i4gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190922_210913.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I also painted these skeletal knights from Ral Partha's 1879 18mm VSF line.<br />
Sadly my flash seems to have washed out the colors and depth a bit but you can still get an idea of what they look like.<br />
I like their slightly more exotic look, makes them look like they are from some long lost civilisation imo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sHAvMkcfGhk/XYfR0ktoVhI/AAAAAAAAHHI/3EDjYY201Rg1VdhHcO9Or4nqegEgbgBSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190922_214749.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sHAvMkcfGhk/XYfR0ktoVhI/AAAAAAAAHHI/3EDjYY201Rg1VdhHcO9Or4nqegEgbgBSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190922_214749.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Real life has been keeping me busy so that's all for now.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I want to start expanding my dungeon scatter terrain so I decided to try my hand at crafting/ sculpting some crates and chests.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The big crates are just wooden blocks which I scored with a pin and then painted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The smaller crate was a bit of an experiment, I tried to sculpt the sides seperately and then</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
assemble them once the had cured.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This turned out to be much to fiddely so the treasure chest got sculpted the traditional way, in one piece over a little armature.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y7khXMSJUp4/XXvYh26hPBI/AAAAAAAAHGY/kNOLFSKn6Hgp8RI12XyNlnBNSaZ2KShpACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190911_074829.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y7khXMSJUp4/XXvYh26hPBI/AAAAAAAAHGY/kNOLFSKn6Hgp8RI12XyNlnBNSaZ2KShpACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190911_074829.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As for painting miniatures , I finished the Goblin Rabble pack from Ral Partha's demonworld/ Blighthaven range.<br />
Lovely figures to paint with lots of character, to bad these haven't made it to their singles collection yet as I'd love to get my hands on some more of the different poses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkaqcXedaO4/XXvYk30tv3I/AAAAAAAAHGc/rltNqA_ygikNi0SotkoDuakxmQlZxcJtACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_20190912_215647.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkaqcXedaO4/XXvYk30tv3I/AAAAAAAAHGc/rltNqA_ygikNi0SotkoDuakxmQlZxcJtACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_20190912_215647.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm going to have to rummage through my lead pile and see which figures strike my fancy .<br />
Also, having done the little treasure chest, I think I might try sculpting a mimic version of it to.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

Its been a bit of a miscellaneous bunch of figures this week.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Two skellie archers to get them up to strength, a restless spirit, a champion of evil, a yuan-ti archer and I found the last of my survivors and gave him a quick paintjob to.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also made some terrain: the pillars in the background</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mmn6gtRwOVk/XXgK4lSsO2I/AAAAAAAAHF4/bdGPAab0U-sx9jP0FXLoapFVy8bhtez4QCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190829_112309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mmn6gtRwOVk/XXgK4lSsO2I/AAAAAAAAHF4/bdGPAab0U-sx9jP0FXLoapFVy8bhtez4QCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190829_112309.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The skellies, knight and survivor are from Ral Partha and the spirit and snake woman are from Alternative Armies.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A couple of scenarios have a vulture as a kind of eye in the sky spy for the evil overlord.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I thought I'd try something a little different and sculpted this guy instead.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's a D&D monster thats basically a giant eyeball with wings,big claws and a rat tail with a stinger that cries piosonous tears called an eyewing, </div>
<br />
Here he is "nekkid"<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X77ls-C5N5M/XXgK4TSbk-I/AAAAAAAAHF0/xXCDKVt7-aA7ty26NWpKA5MluLSwm1tMQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190903_183941.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1181" data-original-width="1575" height="478" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X77ls-C5N5M/XXgK4TSbk-I/AAAAAAAAHF0/xXCDKVt7-aA7ty26NWpKA5MluLSwm1tMQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190903_183941.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And with a little paint on him..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S45P3mh2b9U/XXgK4wF4yOI/AAAAAAAAHF8/aVRhYFBlFWArxjr1przk7qM4e-UGbClFQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190910_223949.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S45P3mh2b9U/XXgK4wF4yOI/AAAAAAAAHF8/aVRhYFBlFWArxjr1przk7qM4e-UGbClFQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190910_223949.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I've started experimenting on sculpting some crates and treasure chests and have a group of demonworld goblins primed and ready for paint.<br />
<br />
Also the tile these photo's were taken on is part of an old dungeon tile project which I'm looking to revive soon so, if you like what you see, stay tune for more.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

Like I said I seem to be on a roll.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lets hope I keep on rolling.😎</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the survivors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They are from Ral Partha, lovely models, so full of character.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can see so many uses for them, survivors, angry villagers/lynch mob, down on their luck bandids...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N1RlKhFP0qg/XWDasfY7GQI/AAAAAAAAHEk/T2Mdn3zRosACaTGkiacE56lRuLgQ8_w_wCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190823_212632.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N1RlKhFP0qg/XWDasfY7GQI/AAAAAAAAHEk/T2Mdn3zRosACaTGkiacE56lRuLgQ8_w_wCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190823_212632.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
"Don't you think all zombies kind of all look alike ?"<br />
I was never a fan of the whole zombie trope and would have preferred to have swapped them out for maybe some kind of humanoid spider hybrid (in ROSD the giant spiders bite turns people into zombies) but well ... meh...<br />
So I speed painted these, not the best paintjob ever, but for tabletop they'll do.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eFQOEVWX9Ac/XWDasolL4fI/AAAAAAAAHEs/e39MDkoD_dMCjEZYQthatzNXEZSJE8fggCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190823_212555.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1216" data-original-width="1600" height="486" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eFQOEVWX9Ac/XWDasolL4fI/AAAAAAAAHEs/e39MDkoD_dMCjEZYQthatzNXEZSJE8fggCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190823_212555.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And of course all that rotting flesh starts attracting flies doesn't it!<br />
Some cheap chinese plastic flies which I simply based and then could not resist touching up the badly painted eyes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b5q3DukPmZk/XWDasXrwP4I/AAAAAAAAHEo/F3_L47xoXOUE8w0Vyeq-xs-yX20j14ILACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_20190824_083129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b5q3DukPmZk/XWDasXrwP4I/AAAAAAAAHEo/F3_L47xoXOUE8w0Vyeq-xs-yX20j14ILACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_20190824_083129.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
That's it for now.<br />
Sculpting the five casualty markers is probably going to take me a bit longer, though I may cop out and just chop up some extra minis I have lying around and use those to make them instead.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

Back to Work!!!Now that the summer holidays are nearing the end I've finally got some hobby time again.<br />
So how did I spend these precious moments? 😎<br />
Well, I painted some Crom's Anvil tribal warriors to serve as leaders for my Copplestone Picts.<br />
I will be using these in stead of the Gnolls some of the missions call for.<br />

<br />
I also wanted some treasure/clue markers like the Frostgrave ones fr<span style="text-align: center;">om Northstar.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;">I couldn't really find anything that hit the mark in 15mm so I decided to sculpt some myself.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<br />

<span style="text-align: center;"></span><br />
And, as I seemed to be on a roll, I decided to tackle the spider cocoons for the second part of the first mission too.<br />

<br />
Next I think I'm going to try my hand at sculpting some casualty markers and I have based and basecoated the zombies and survivors so they are ready for painting to.<br />
<br />
Things are finally moving again, hopefully I'll have more things so share with you soon.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />
